Tampon-like devices (TLDs) for drug delivery are innovative tools designed to administer therapeutic agents directly to targeted areas within the female pelvic region. These devices use the familiar form and function of traditional tampons to deliver drugs in a controlled manner via the intravaginal route. Our TLD utilises BioHastalex®. This material is biocompatible, non-toxic, recyclable, and biodegradable in seawater and landfills within a year, addressing both health and environmental concerns. Patent protection has been filed, highlighting the uniqueness and commercial potential of our solution. Dysmenorrhea affects over 80% of all women at some point and often lacks clear treatment strategies. |
