TidalSense

Project Tidal Breathing High Resolution Capnography to Quantify Obstructed Airflow in Wheezy Children including children <5years old
Description

TidalSense has patented an innovative fast-response CO2 sensor within a connected, handheld and battery-operated handset (N-Tidal Handset). TidalSense has also developed, and is ready to bring to market N-Tidal Diagnose, software with embedded AI algorithms that can sensitively detect changes in lung physiology consistent with COPD. Class 2a EU MDR regulatory approval for N-Tidal Diagnose is anticipated in calendar Q1/Q2 2025.

This project will develop prototype AI-derived asthma diagnostic software to be combined with N-Tidal hardware for children and determine how it could be used in clinical practice.

Neuronostics Limited

Project Defining and validating a digital biomarker of epilepsy in children
Description

BioEP is a tool to help clinicians diagnose epilepsy. It uses data from routine EEG tests to create a computational model of the brain. Using the model, BioEP can indicate the ability of the brain to produce epileptic seizure activity and therefore indicate support for a diagnosis of epilepsy or not.

BioEP empowers clinicians with additional information and can be particularly useful when EEGs do not capture any information that is helpful in supporting a diagnosis of epilepsy. BioEP has the potential to speed up reaching an accurate diagnosis and our aim is that this will help people with suspected epilepsy.

TRANSDERMAL DIAGNOSTICS LTD

Project Non-invasive, and needle-free, continuous glucose monitor for children and young people living with diabetes
Description

Transdermal Diagnostics' product is a non-invasive, Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) system designed to assist individuals in managing their blood sugar levels. The innovation is a biowearable device which includes disposable sensor patches and a rechargeable electronic transmitter. The transmitter wirelessly sends data to specialized software algorithms and readings are accessible through a mobile phone app. This software interprets the signals from the sensors, continuously displays data and stores these readings over extended periods, allowing users to monitor their glucose levels regularly without the need for multiple daily finger sticks.
